Job Title: Site Operative

Department/Location: Operations / Barkip Biogas

Reports To: Site Manager

Reports: N/A

Key Relationships: Site Operatives, Management, Weighbridge, Engineers and Technicians

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Site Operative will be responsible for effectively operating the facility. They will

also undertake various maintenance tasks and ensure that the site areas are kept clean, tidy, and dry at

all times ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards. The Site Operative will also be

responsible for taking samples for laboratory testing, and safely carrying out weighbridge and waste

acceptance duties.

• Ensure high levels of Health, Safety and Environmental practice with a duty of care to yourself and

others.

• Operate the facility in line with policy and procedure.

• Keeping the facility clean, dry and tidy at all times.

• Carry out weighbridge and waste acceptance duties when required.

• Assess incoming and outgoing loads for quality.

• Responsible for safe vehicle loading/unloading.

• Safely and effectively monitor the operation of the process.

• Identify process issues & seek assistance from Engineers.

• Provide assistance to and supervision of contractors working on site.

• Record and document all process information and analysis results.

• Ensure downtime is limited and plant is running optimally at all times.

• Assist with and complete various maintenance tasks under supervision, unless signed off on.

• Make sure tools are always clean, ready for use and stored appropriately.

• Keep all machines in sound working order by performing preventative maintenance on equipment

(greasing, cleaning etc).

• Take samples for analysis as required.

• Report any contamination.

• Report any accidents or incidents.

• Report any damage and/or anything suspicious immediately.

Primary Responsibilities

Undertake various maintenance tasks as required. Overseeing the AD process to ensure downtime is

limited.

Taking samples for laboratory testing. Operating machinery within policy and procedures.

Promote and demonstrate safe working practices

at all times.

Working as part of a team to ensure KPI’s are met for

the company budget.

Personal Specification

Essential Desirable

Qualifications & Training

Mechanical or electrical training.

Experience

Ability to work with computers and

technology.

Previous experience within plant

operations.

Maintenance experience.

Knowledge and understanding of

HSE regulations.

SCADA Operation.

Professional Experience

Qualities and Attitude

Honest, approachable, can-do,

flexible, consistent, a self-starter able

to roll sleeves up as required.

Product Knowledge

Knowledge of AD biogas/feedstock.

Competencies

Good communicator. Ability to carry out instructions as well as use own

initiative.

Can identify hazards and risks and deal with them

appropriately. Demonstrates commitment to Bio Capital values.
